Around here, March is when the garden begins to come back in earnest.  The crocus I planted last fall in the grass are coming up and blooming.  They are beautiful!  I only hope they spread like wildfire.  Next up are the weeds.  They are back with a vengeance this year, looking strong and healthy while my intended plants are just beginning to emerge from their hibernation.  Now is when I really start weeding.  The weeds are easier to see, the ground is soft, but generally not soaking, and the weather is still cool.  I may squash some wanted plants, but they'll be back soon enough, and those drat weeds will be gone!
March is also when I start adding amended soil to my vegetable beds.  I'm not ready to plant there yet, but tilling and putting new soil down makes that part of the garden look cared for and gives it a good start for next month.
As I work around the yard I continue to clean up from the ravages of winter.  I also begin those minor building projects (this year it's a folding, reusable frame for my peas to climb up).  No big projects yet, but just enough to stretch my muscles and make me mildly sore in the morning.
What I don't do is plant anything besides primroses (those I can't resist).  It's torture, but frost sneaks in late sometimes and I don't want to kill anything I just paid good money for!
